The Bulgarian team ranks in the fifth place after Day 1 of the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Holon, Israel.

The team performed well on Friday despite the absence of their teammate Tsvetelina Stoyanova, who remains in serious condition in hospital after falling from the sixth floor of a residential building in Sofia earlier this week.

Reneta Kamberova, Lyubomira Kazanova, Mihaela Maevska, Tsvetelina Naydenova and Hristiana Todorova won 35.850 points in the all-around group competition (18.000 points with two hoops and three pairs of clubs and 17.850 points with five ribbons).

It was the first official group competition for Lyubomira Kazanova, who replaced Tsvetelina Stoyanova.

Russia led with both five ribbons and with two hoops and three pairs of clubs, winning the gold medal with 37.408 points in the all-around group competition. Belarus won the silver medal with 36.849 points and the bronze went to Israel with 36.549.
